England insist Tom Curry is ready for Friday’s World Cup bronze final as squad and management rally around the flanker caught in a racism storm baccarat
World Rugby is investigating an allegation made by Curry that he was racially abused by South Africa hooker Bongi Mbonambi in the first half of Saturday’s semi-final defeat baccarat
Curry claimed to referee Ben O’Keeffe that he was called a “white c***” by Mbonambi and, after a complaint made by the Rugby baccarat Football Union, audio and video footage is being examined for evidence baccarat
If the 25-year-old is picked against Argentina on Friday night it will be his 50th cap and attack coach Richard Wigglesworth is confident the alleged incident will not be a disruption as England prepare to sign off their World Cup baccarat
“Tom is good baccarat
I know players will have got around him baccarat
Steve and the management team have been all over it baccarat
I’m sure he’s getting every bit of support that he needs,” Wigglesworth said baccarat
“I’m not sure you can ever put yourself in those shoes and know that feeling baccarat
What I do know is he’s an impressive young man who, if selected on Friday, will pour everything into that England shirt as he has done on the previous 49 occasions baccarat
“It will be dealt with by World Rugby baccarat
We get stuck into our prep for Argentina baccarat
The process is the process and we have no knowledge of how long that will go on for or the outcome, but we have to get ready for Argentina baccarat
“Every week there is always some sort of thing you could be distracted by baccarat
It’s international rugby, there’s a lot you could be distracted by baccarat
You want to be in situations where there are distractions baccarat
“This distraction is different, but it’s still noise that isn’t about Friday night, our prep and our desire to finish in the right way baccarat
“World Rugby has been pretty vocal in following up things in the past and they need to do the same again baccarat
”Tom is good baccarat
I know players will have got around him baccarat
Steve and the management team have been all over itRichard WigglesworthWigglesworth’s words were echoed by Ben Earl, England’s player of the World Cup who started the last two matches in the same back row as the Sale openside baccarat
“Tom’s a brilliant team-mate, a brilliant friend of mine baccarat
He’s also an incredibly resilient guy,” Earl said baccarat
“He gives his all for the team and I know he’s going to be doing that this weekend baccarat
I hope it all gets resolved very quickly baccarat
”Wigglesworth was unable to shed any light on a report that defence coach Kevin Sinfield will leave England after the World Cup by mutual consent baccarat
England’s defence has improved markedly during the tournament in France and they only conceded one try to world champions South Africa baccarat
“There’s nothing that I’ve been aware of from Kevin, so it’s a hard one to comment on because it’s not me who the story is about,” Wigglesworth said baccarat
“Hopefully there’s not much in it baccarat
I’m sure that post-World Cup and down the line we’ll find out if there is baccarat
“He’s a close ally of mine from Leicester baccarat
We were two guys who lived away from the club so we travelled and stayed over baccarat
“I spent a lot of time with him, and even more time with him through this whole process baccarat
“I’m very close to him so I’m probably incredibly biased about what Kev brings but I’m sure the lads in the environment will tell you that he gives absolutely everything baccarat
“He’s had a big impact on individuals and gives up a lot of his time to help baccarat
We know he’s that sort of person and he’s done an exceptional job of doing it baccarat

Francis Ngannou came close to pulling off the biggest and most outrageous shock in baccarat boxing history just after midnight on Saturday in Riyadh baccarat
Ngannou had never once fought as a boxer, but for 10 rounds he bullied, pushed, clubbed, hit and dropped the unbeaten world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury baccarat
At the end of the contest, Fury won a controversial split decision to remain unbeaten, but his bruised and bloody face was harsh and undeniable testimony to the success Ngannou had throughout the fight baccarat
It was called a freak show, a circus event and the carnival fight was meant to be an easy night in the ring for Fury; at ringside, the other unbeaten heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, was waiting with a smile on his face and his contract for a fight with Fury in his pocket baccarat
He was not smiling at the end baccarat
The plan had been for their $100m unification fight to be back in Riyadh in late December; that date has not yet officially been dropped, but it is seriously unlikely baccarat
Fury was exhausted and heavily marked on the left side of his face: the champion looked stunned when the fight was finished, just as he looked stunned a dozen times during the action baccarat
“I need a long, hard break,” Fury said baccarat
He also praised Ngannou and was, thankfully, respectful in victory baccarat
There was a sense of true bewilderment in the packed ring at the end – I know, I was in the mix baccarat
“I have told him to go away, take a break and to not even think about baccarat boxing,” added Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter baccarat
It is clearly what Fury needs baccarat
A decision on the date of the Fury vs Usyk fight will be made in the next week or two; it will be in Saudi before the end of March baccarat
It will happen, but Ngannou has pushed it back and also put himself in prime position to fight the winner baccarat
Fury was knocked to the canvas during the third round (Getty)In the ring, Ngannou was magnificent and controlled and never once flustered by anything that Fury did baccarat
The smart thinking before the first bell was that even a slow, heavy and unmotivated Fury would simply know too much for a man having his very first baccarat boxing match baccarat
Ngannou, who has lost three of his 20 fights on the mixed martial arts circuit, stuck to baccarat boxing’s absolute basics and Fury was unable to solve any of the problems that his novice opponent posed baccarat
Sure, it was a great performance from the Cameroonian-French fighter, but Fury was very poor baccarat
In round three, Fury was caught with a looping left hook and sent tumbling, dazed and embarrassed to the canvas baccarat
It was not a fluke punch or a wild swing; Ngannou was in charge of the pace and he was picking his punches with care baccarat
Fury was ragged and often held with a desperation that was hard to believe baccarat
Ngannou kept the pressure on for the entire 10 rounds and Fury never managed to take full control of the fight baccarat
Fury never hurt Ngannou, he never once made Ngannou look like a novice baccarat
It was hard to watch at times and difficult to absorb what was happening; Fury clearly had no idea how to deal with the man he had deeply underestimated baccarat
There must be a full inquest inside the swollen Fury team baccarat
In the second half of the fight, as Ngannou slowed, Fury had some success with a flicking jab, but he was still quick to hold baccarat
Ngannou ignored the big rights that connected with his chin and head baccarat
The later rounds were closer, slower and three or four could have gone to either man baccarat
Fury will now need rest after his 10 rounds against Ngannou (Getty)Fury was having his 35th fight, he is generally acknowledged as the best heavyweight of his generation, and some have even claimed he is one of the top five heavyweights in history baccarat
However, in the ring against Ngannou, there were very few recognisable parts of any fighting version of Fury the world heavyweight champion; he fought like a novice and often looked like he was uncomfortable under pressure baccarat
And Ngannou did put him under pressure baccarat
At the final bell, there were no great celebrations from either man, no mad scrambles to raise a fighter high on shoulders baccarat
They were both exhausted, their teams drained baccarat
It was a split decision; one vote of 95-94 for Ngannou and a 96-93 and 95-94 for Fury baccarat
There was relief, not joy on Fury’s face at the end baccarat
Ngannou just shrugged baccarat
He had been a gentleman all week baccarat
“I came up short today,” Ngannou said baccarat
“I will fight on baccarat
I will get baccarat better baccarat
” He never once complained that he had been robbed baccarat
In the ring at the end, there was a stare-off baccarat between Fury and Usyk, but it never looked like either man was committed to the ceremony baccarat
Fury had a bad night, Ngannou the finest of his fighting career; Fury will never be that bad again and hopefully, at some point next year, Ngannou and Fury will do it all again baccarat
It was not a circus fight, but it was a carnival in Saudi Arabia baccarat
